Mission

Need For Mental Health Services In Our Community

It is easy to think of our mental health as separate from the rest of our bodies. However, it is just as important to our wellbeing and yet we live in a world where physical and mental health are not treated the same. As parents and caregivers, we know just what to do if our child breaks their leg or has a fever, but watching a child ensure stress and fear often leaves us feeling helpless.

Unfortunately, mental health is still a difficult topic for many, especially when it pertains to children and adolescents. It’s time to reshape holistic health care for our children, grandchildren, and loved ones, and this is where you come in.

At Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC), we continually strive to eliminate that stigma. Yet the growing need for pediatric mental health services in Anne Arundel County outpaces the current behavioral health care services offered at LHAAMC’s J. Kent McNew Family Medical Center, Luminis Health Pathways, and LHAAMC’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Family Foundation Pediatric Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit.

The Denim & Diamonds Bash is an important opportunity to provide critical funding for the expansion of our vital pediatric mental health services. Your generosity will touch the lives of our young patients and their families from across the region who deserve the best available care. Your gifts will also support our dedicated team of clinicians and staff who share their expertise and empathy with families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors of our community.
